Bishan-Toa Payoh Town Council organised a memorable PAP’s Action-for-Green-Town LKY100 Tree Planting Day on 26 November 2023! Welcoming our Members of Parliament (MP), residents and volunteers on this special occasion, we were heartened to have the community come together for the commemoration of the birth centenary of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, our founding father of Singapore.

Leading this commemorative event were our 5 MPs for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC & Marymount SMC @Dr Ng Eng Hen @Mr Chee Hong Tat @Ms Gan Siow Huan @Mr Chong Kee Hiong @Mr Saktiandi Supaat. Putting our hands together, we planted the final 20 Garcinia Subelliptica, commonly known as the Happiness or Fukugi trees, celebrating the successful planting of 600 trees in 2023!

As BTPTC continues to create a greener and more sustainable Town in the GRC & SMC, we hope the Happiness Trees planted would continue to bring peace & bliss, health & happiness to residents in Bishan, Toa Payoh & Marymount! 💚💙
