Hundreds of Bishan, Toa Payoh and Marymount residents attended the “Greener Together with BTPTC!” Tree Planting & Sustainability Exhibition 2022 in high spirits last Saturday – the most happening green event in our town!

Joining us at this joyous event were Members of Parliament for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC and Marymount SMC Dr Ng Eng Hen, Mr Chee Hong Tat, Ms Gan Siow Huang, Mr Chong Kee Hiong and Mr Saktiandi Supaat. Together with residents, grassroots leaders and BTPTC, our MPs spontaneously planted the 1000th tree as a mark of BTPTC and the community’s Action for Green Town throughout 2022. Today’s tree planting was especially meaningful as it wrapped up a year of community tree planting efforts, adding 5% to the total tree count of 18,000 in our estate, further expanding our green cover.

Our first Sustainability Exhibition featured 10 home-made sustainability booths by our very own home-grown talents, co-created with our close community partners and residents. Our residents spent an enjoyable afternoon learning all about the various green initiatives and future green plan as we work towards Greener Environment, Energy Efficiency and Zero Waste. Working together behind the scenes in the past months was an extremely dedicated team of BTPTC staff, who had put in amazing hardwork and heartwork in contents creation and creative curation, to bring the best for our community. Hopping on the green bandwagon, the BTPTC Upcyclist team had great fun creating our first eco Christmas tree made of 127 beer bottles donated by neighbourhood coffeeshops for this community project. Officiating its light up was BTPTC Chairperson and Sustainability Champion, Mr Chong Kee Hiong, symbolising a bright journey ahead in building beautiful homes in a sustainable green town in the GRC & SMC!

Thank you residents for joining us at this meaningful green event and supporting our initiatives in the past year. Together, let’s continue to go #GreenerTogetherWithBTPTC as One Community!
